The lead performances are raw and earnest. Rajat Kapoor as the stoic, conflicted patriarch delivers a career-best monologue about identity loss. However, the film suffers from a common NRI-genre pitfall: melodrama. Some confrontations feel stretched, and the 178-minute runtime is excessive.
