Sidharth Malhotra plays Guru, a hardened criminal seeking redemption.

The movie begins with the introduction of Rakesh (played by Sidharth Malhotra), a young and innocent music teacher who falls in love with Aisha (played by Alia Bhatt), a beautiful and independent woman. Their love story seems perfect until Aisha gets killed by a notorious gangster, Mohnish (played by Shreyas Talpade). Devastated by Aisha's death, Rakesh sets out to avenge her murder.
