However, the path to activation is fraught with obstacles. Traditional engineering curricula are often rigid, overcrowded with foundational theory, and resistant to rapid technological change. Furthermore, the commercial cost of EPLAN licenses is prohibitive for many institutions. Consequently, many professors resort to "teaching around" the software using outdated slides or generic open-source alternatives. This approach, while budget-friendly, fails to activate either the software or the student’s potential. The student graduates having heard of EPLAN but never having navigated its parts database, generated a bill of materials, or resolved a cross-reference error.
