Sometimes the driver installs, but the fastboot protocol times out because the device's bootloader partition table is corrupted. Use Sony's official Emma flash tool. Emma has a low-level recovery mode that bypasses standard fastboot commands. Download Emma, log in with a Sony engineer account (free), and flash a stock firmware.
