She rebuilt the function by hand, reverse-engineering the missing ARM thunk from the open-source Linux kernel Cisco had long since abandoned. She wrote a 16-byte assembly shim that redirected the load to the correct memory pool, then inserted a NOP (no operation) to preserve alignment.
