Need for Speed: Underground 2 (2004) remains a landmark in arcade-style street racing games. Due to its aging graphics, limited resolution support, and lack of modern quality-of-life features, the modding community has developed unofficial remasters. This paper evaluates , a lightweight modification designed to improve visual fidelity, performance, and controller compatibility while preserving the original game’s core mechanics. We analyze its texture overhauls, lighting adjustments, HUD modernization, stability fixes, and system requirements compared to the full “Real Remaster” version. Findings indicate that V2.0 Lite successfully balances enhancement with low hardware overhead, making it optimal for mid-range PCs and Steam Deck–like devices.
