Be aware that earlier editions of Janson focused heavily on the "Great Masters" (mostly male, mostly Western). The "Updated" (UPD) editions by Anthony Janson expanded coverage to include women artists and non-Western art to a greater degree. If your PDF is an older version, you will miss this context.
