Directed by Robert Stromberg, the film shifts the perspective from Aurora to Maleficent herself. We see her beginnings as a pure-hearted fairy who protects the Moors, only to be betrayed by her childhood friend, Stefan. This betrayal hardens her heart, leading her to place the famous sleeping curse on Stefan’s daughter, Aurora.
